Iran and Uzbekistan Reach Agreement to Expand Investment in Mining Sector

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Iran and Uzbekistan have concluded new agreements to expand cooperation and investment in the mining and mineral industry, marking an important step in strengthening bilateral economic relations, according to IRNA.

During his visit to Tashkent, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mining, and Trade, Mohammad Atabak, held talks with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Mining and Geology, Bobur Farhodovich Islamov, and Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov.

The Iranian minister highlighted that the agreements reached pave the way for significant growth in trade and commercial exchanges between the two countries. He added that, despite the positive trajectory of cooperation, the goals set by the presidents of both nations must be implemented with determination.

The Iranian delegation, led by Minister Atabak, arrived in Tashkent on 9 November, accompanied by senior representatives from Iran’s industrial and mining sectors.

On the first day of the visit, the delegation, together with Iran’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mohammad Ali Eskandari, met with Iranian entrepreneurs and business representatives operating in Uzbekistan.

The discussions also covered the development of joint mining projects, simplification of customs procedures, and utilization of industrial capacities in both countries to ensure sustainable economic growth.
