Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 May, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade announced the results of an international tender for the construction of two photovoltaic stations with a capacity of 220 MW each in Samarkand and Jizzakh regions.
About 18 companies from China, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, India, South Africa, Russia, Spain, Norway and France participated in the pre-qualification selection, of which 15 companies successfully passed this selection.
Based on the results of the evaluation of the submitted proposals of the bidders, 7 companies on the project in Jizzakh region were admitted to the opening of financial bids with electricity tariffs (Abu Dhabi Future Energy company PJSC (Masdar), ACWA Power, Risen Energy, Jinko Power Technology Co. Ltd., China Power International Holding (CPIH) Ltd. and Jinko Power (HK) Co. Ltd., KEPCO consortium, Samsung C&T Corporation and KIND, POWERCHINA consortium Resources Ltd. and Jiangsu Linyang Energy Co. Ltd. ", a consortium of Total Eren SA and Total Solar INT) and 6 companies on the project in the Samarkand region (Abu Dhabi Future Energy company PJSC (Masdar), ACWA Power, a consortium of Jinko Power Technology Co. Ltd., China Power International Holding (CPIH) Ltd. and Jinko Power (HK) Co. Ltd., a consortium of KEPCO, Samsung C&T Corporation and KIND, a consortium of POWERCHINA Resources Ltd. and Jiangsu Linyang Energy Co. Ltd., a consortium of Total Eren SA and Total Solar INT).
Abu Dhabi Future Energy company PJSC (Masdar) (UAE) with a tariff of 1.823 US cents per kWh of generated electricity has been announced as the winner of the international tender for the construction of a photovoltaic power plant in Jizzakh region.
The consortium Jinko Power Technology Co. Ltd., China Power International Holding (CPIH) Ltd. and Jinko Power (HK) Co. Ltd. with a tariff of 2.305 US cents per kWh of generated electricity.
Abu Dhabi Future Energy company PJSC with a tariff of 1.791 US cents per kWh of generated electricity has been declared the winner of the international tender for the construction of a photovoltaic power plant in Samarkand region.
The consortium Jinko Power Technology Co. Ltd., China Power International Holding (CPIH) Ltd. and Jinko Power (HK) Co. Ltd. with a tariff of 2.228 US cents per kWh of generated electricity.
The PVPs are expected to be operational by the end of 2022. The launch of the power plants will ensure the generation of 1.04 billion kWh of electricity per year.
The implementation of these projects will help Uzbekistan achieve its goals of increasing the volume of electricity generated by solar energy up to 5 GW and bringing the share of alternative energy sources in the total energy balance of the country to 25 percent, which in turn will reduce Uzbekistan's energy dependence on gas and coal.
During negotiations with the participation of the International Finance Corporation, sites were selected for construction in the Kattakurgan region of the Samarkand and Gallaaral regions of the Jizzakh regions. The amount of attracted investments for the implementation of these two projects is estimated at US$400 million.
