Investments in Uzbekistan Increase by 29.8 Trillion Soums in First Half of 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first half of 2025, Uzbekistan recorded investment inflows exceeding the same period in 2024 by 29.8 trillion soums, according to the National Statistics Committee. During the reporting period, a total of 273.4 trillion soums was invested.

The investment growth rate during this period shows a positive trend. In 2024, the peak growth reached 45.0%, while in the first half of 2025, the growth rate stood at 5.5% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Overall, from January to June 2025, a total of 273.4 trillion soums was directed toward the development of the economy and social sector, representing a 5.5% increase over the volume recorded in the first half of 2024.

Investments from centralized sources of financing amounted to 26.5 trillion soums during this period, which is 3.7% less than in the same period last year. These investments accounted for 9.7% of total capital investments.

By economic activity, the largest share of investments was allocated to the manufacturing industry. Due to the implementation of large-scale projects in this sector, 74.3 trillion soums were invested — or 27.2% of total capital investment.

As for foreign investments and loans, their total volume in the first half of 2025 amounted to US$20.6 billion. Of this amount, US$15.1 billion (equivalent to 195.3 trillion soums) was directed toward the creation of new fixed assets, meaning capital investments.

In the housing construction sector, 7,183.2 thousand square meters of residential space were commissioned from January to June 2025, marking a 7.8% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

Additionally, during this period, 124.9 kilometers of water supply networks were built and put into operation, with rural areas accounting for 72% (89.9 km) of the total. At the same time, 4.4 kilometers of gas pipeline networks were commissioned, including 1.2 kilometers in rural areas.
