Investment, export and tourism potential of Uzbekistan presented in Pakistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5-7 April 2019, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan took part in the major international exhibition Dream Home EXPO-2019 in the city of Islamabad.
The exhibition featured about 300 local and foreign construction companies, large industrial corporations, financial institutions, as well as manufacturers from the United Arab Emirates, China and countries in South Asia.
In the Uzbek pavilion “Made in Uzbekistan”, Artel products, building materials, cable wiring and other products, as well as textile and silk goods, fruits and vegetables from Namangan region were exhibited.
Visitors were also able to watch informational promo videos about economic opportunities, as well as documentaries about the historical cities of Uzbekistan.
In order to enhance export transactions with Pakistan, a presentation of the electronic trading platform of Uzbekistan “tradeuzbekistan.com” was held.
Within three days, the number of visitors to the pavilion of Uzbekistan exceeded 1,500. Following the results of the exhibition, the Embassy was given second place for attendance, the variety of goods on display and the presentation of modern interactive trading services.
In the framework of the exhibition, Ambassador Furkat Sidikov spoke at the International Investment Forum “International Investment Forum - 2019”, which included Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on foreign investment M.Awan, representatives of business and expert-analytical circles, as well as leading media.
Especially for entrepreneurs of Pakistan and South Asian countries, as well as the Pakistani business diaspora abroad, an extended briefing was held on the investment potential of Uzbekistan. Particular emphasis was placed on promising investment projects in Namangan and Tashkent regions, the use of the opportunities of the free economic zones Angren, Bustonlik-pharma, Kosonsoy-pharma, Namangan and others, as well as the development of pilgrim tourism in the country.
During the events, foreign businessmen and journalists emphasized the fact that Uzbekistan is becoming a very attractive and popular country for Pakistanis with great opportunities in the field of investment, trade and tourism.
