Investigation Underway in Surkhandarya Region Following Violent Incident Involving Minors

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Law enforcement authorities in Surkhandarya region are investigating an incident involving sexual violence against a minor.

The case occurred in the Denau district, where an 11th-grade student of School No. 64 is suspected of assaulting a ninth-grade female student at the same school.

The information, which had previously circulated on social media, was confirmed by the regional Department of Preschool and School Education.

According to official data, the incident took place several months ago, outside school grounds and during non-school hours.

The school administration has already conducted an internal review of the circumstances and held meetings with the parents of both students. Case materials have been forwarded to law enforcement authorities for legal evaluation.

The department emphasized that, given the age of the individuals involved, the investigation is being conducted in strict compliance with existing legislation on child protection.

Currently, the school and relevant authorities are implementing comprehensive measures to mitigate the consequences of the incident and carry out preventive work.
