Currently, consumers in Uzbekistan use over 43 million ordinary lamps with the capacity of 60 watt, total power of which makes up 2,939 megawatts and electricity consumption – 6.4 billion KWH.
The company said that if all consumers of electricity will replace ordinary lamps to LED ones, it will help to cut electricity consumption by 5 billion KWH, which will allow to save 1.6 billion cubic meters of gas or 5 million tonnes of coal.
LED-lams are ecologically clean products and allow to cut emission of gases to atmosphere. The lamps also do not require special utilization. The lamps will continue to work at low voltage.
According to Uzbekenergo, LED-lamps will allow to cut expenses to electricity by 80%. The lamps work for over 50,000 hours.
Currently, there are two enterprises on production of LED-lamps in Uzbekistan – one in free industrial and economic zone Navoi and another in special industrial zone Angren.
