Interregional dialogue between Tashkent and Strasbourg established
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A joint communiqué on cooperation between the cities of Tashkent and Strasbourg was signed in France, Dunyo agency reported.
The delegation of Uzbekistan visited Strasbourg on the eve of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to France.
The delegation of Uzbekistan met with the mayor of Strasbourg Roland Rees, senator, president of the Alsatian Region Development Agency Andre Richard, as well as the head of the delegation of the European Parliament on cooperation with Central Asian countries Iveta Grigule.
The parties discussed the possibilities of expanding trade and economic cooperation and stressed the importance of maintaining regular contacts and dialogue to determine the prospects for mutually beneficial partnership, praised the current state of inter-parliamentary relations.
One of the key issues on the agenda of the talks was the proposal to establish close ties between Tashkent and Strasbourg.
Following the meetings, the parties signed a joint communique on cooperation between the cities of Tashkent and Strasbourg. Also, an agreement was reached on a partnership in the industrial sector for 2018-2021.
The documents provide for the development of interregional cooperation in the economic, investment, tourism, scientific, technical and cultural fields.
