Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 6 December, a meeting was held by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva with representatives of international organizations, as well as ministries and departments of the republic with the aim of further expanding cooperation with international organizations, based on the priorities of the National Commission on combating trafficking in human beings and forced labor.
The event was attended by ILO project managers in Uzbekistan, international and national coordinators of the Regional Representation in Central Asia of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the manager of the International Migration Organization for Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of ministries and departments that are members of the National Commission on Combating Trafficking in Persons and Forced Persons to work.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of further development in 2020 of the interaction of the National Commission with international organizations to combat human trafficking and forced labor, ensure the rights and interests of migrants. It is also planned to develop an action plan aimed at developing cooperation in this direction.
The action plan envisages the definition of specific tasks for the further improvement of national legislation on the prevention of trafficking in persons and forced labor, ensuring the rights and interests of migrants, organizational and administrative measures, training personnel in this direction, advanced training of specialists, as well as the development of international cooperation.
