Interdepartmental commission on the accession of Uzbekistan to WTO takes place

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 July, a meeting of the interdepartmental commission on the accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the World Trade Organization (WTO) was held under the leadership of Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov.

The participants of the meeting reviewed a package of documents to be agreed and approved in the prescribed manner, constructive comments and proposals from relevant ministries and departments were heard, and a common position was developed on a number of issues.

Taking into account the need to ensure timely implementation of consistent steps and procedures for joining the WTO, critical comments were given on streamlining the processes of interdepartmental coordination and approval of documents, as well as ensuring coordinated activities of responsible employees.

Following the meeting, instructions were given to speed up the procedures for preparing the necessary documents and a plan of operational actions was drawn up, implemented in the format of interdepartmental working groups with the involvement of foreign experts and donor organizations.
