Installation of the first rails starts on the Sergeli line

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Sergeli district of Tashkent, the capital of our country, is becoming one of the largest, most beautiful and annually developing areas of our city. Today, a large, modern residential area has appeared here.

Over the past 3 years, 460 multi-storey buildings with 19,522 apartments have been commissioned in the district. 26 exemplary mahalla guzars were built. Over this period, more than 100 thousand people moved here, the total population exceeded 276 thousand people.

As you know, Sergeli district is connected with the center of the capital mainly by the new Sergeli street. As for the increase in population, this will also be an additional load on this street, where there will often be traffic jams, buses will be clogged. This will contribute to the further development of a convenient and safe transport communication system for the population living in this area. In such conditions, the underground metro is very convenient. The President of our country pays constant attention to this issue.

At a meeting held on 29 May 2020 with activists of the Sergeli district, measures to develop transport infrastructure were also discussed, and the task was set to commission the Sergeli metro in September of this year. On 4 June, the head of our state, having familiarized himself with the project of a new road and bridge in the city of Tashkent, noted that, creating conditions for walking, priority should be given to the well-being and health of people. In fact, special attention is paid to the same aspects as in the era of designing the underground metro.

In pursuance of the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 29, 2016 No. PP-2664 “On measures for the implementation of the project for the construction of the Sergeli line of the Tashkent metro”, the total cost of the implemented overpass ground metro is 82.66 million US dollars, 47.56 million dollars are budgetary funds Uzbekistan, 35.1 million dollars - on loans from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development. Creative work on this megaproject began in early 2017. The project of the object was prepared by specialists of the Boshtransloyloy joint-stock company, creative work is carried out by the specialists of the unitary enterprise Bridge-building Trust of the Uzbekistan Temir Yollari joint-stock company. Sergeli metro line is being built on a completely new flyover, which is still not used in Central Asia. That is, this road is built by a bridge, trains move on the ground.

“According to the project, the total length of the Sergeli line is 6.94 kilometers and consists of the Chosh-Tepa, Tashkent Ring Road, Sergeli, Afrosiab, Kipchak and Chinar stations,” says Soyibjon Juraev, Head of the Tashkent Metro Line Construction Directorate of the Tashkent Metro Unitary Enterprise.

- Currently, creative work is being carried out by experienced specialists of the Unitary Enterprise Mostostroitelny Trust at the stations and their interim plan. In order to ensure large-scale construction and installation processes, 60 modern machines and mechanisms are effectively used. Over 700 specialists in 2 shifts are employed in the construction of the facility.

Over the past period, work on installing the foundation for 5 out of 6 stations and intermediate support pillars using German technology for drilling was performed in high quality, support pillars were completely installed on the flyover. Between them, 26-meter beams are qualitatively and firmly mounted. The construction of the foundation for installation of the escalator at stops, the assembly of bricks, the facing of the external facade with marble, and the laying of wires for electric lighting are also being completed. Work continues on the installation of fences for the passenger platform and the installation of metal structures.

It should be noted that the Chosh-Tepa station of the Sergeli line of the Tashkent metro is connected by the Almazar underground station of the Chilanzar direction. During the implementation of this complex solution of the planned project, the builders completed excavation work on the territory of the Chilanzar electric depot in the amount of 21,550 m3 for the installation of the left and right supporting walls. So far, work has begun on laying the first rails here.

About 600 meters of rails were laid from the Tashkent Ring Road station to the Sergeli station. The tunnel part of this direction is connected to the Almazar underground station of the Chilanzar direction of the Tashkent metro and reconstruction of the tunnel is completed, asphalt surface is restored. The noteworthy Chosh-Top stop will be the first flyover station of the new line.

Next is the Tashkent Ring Road stop. It also completed the laying of foundations for the installation of support pillars and escalators, the assembly of bricks, the facing of the external facade with marble, the laying of wires for electric lighting, currently the interior decoration of the station is carried out at the last stage. Installation of metal structures for the roof of the station was completed. In total, 34 metal trusses were built according to the project. The concreting of the station platform has been fully completed, and the interior decoration is ongoing. Marble slabs are laid on platforms. At the Sergeli station, the digging of the foundation, the assembly of bricks and the installation of the escalator foundation were completed. The installation of 770.6 m2 of rafter metal roofing has been completed. Currently, the internal and external walls of the station are ready for finishing work.

At Afrosiab and Kipchak stations, work was completed on excavating the foundations of buildings and laying concrete, assembling bricks on the outer and inner intermediate walls of the stations, plastering was 100% completed. In addition, reinforced concrete beams of 100 percent diameter were installed on the Afrosiab station platform section. 64.4% or 1 thousand 86 pieces of reinforced concrete beams, 86.6% or 220 units of basic pillar crossbars, 254 units of support poles are installed in the design estimates of the Sergeli line, construction work on 83.0% or 220 units of support poles and 580 m tunnel sections.

All metro stations constructed by experienced specialists use modern equipment and high-quality building materials. In particular, for passengers with disabilities, modern elevators and escalators will be installed on the station platform for the safe laying of tactile tiles and elevating passengers to the platforms, to ensure security at the stations, modern video surveillance, modern IT-class turnstiles, as well as energy-saving lighting will be installed. Mobile communications equipment is also equipped with electric drives. Timely delivery of high-quality materials to construction sites creates the basis for quick and reliable construction work. Great importance is given to the full observance by workers of labor protection and safety regulations and safety requirements when working at height. Each specialist and employee works in strict accordance with sanitary and hygienic requirements to avoid the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the agreement signed in April 2019 between the Uzbekiston Temir Yollari joint-stock company and the Metrovagonmash Russian joint-stock company on the purchase of 5 metro trains (a total of 20 wagons), each of which consists of 4 wagons operating for the ground underground in the city of Tashkent, according to the signed agreement, these trains have been prepared and delivered to our country on the basis of the Metrovagonmash joint stock company to this day. In the future, it is planned to purchase another 10 trains for the Tashkent metro.
