Installation of new metering and control devices for electric energy continues in Namangan region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In accordance with the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 23 October 2018 “On measures to accelerate development and ensure financial stability of the electric power industry”, “Regional Electric Grids” throughout the country is actively working on the phased implementation of automated power control and metering systems (ASKUE).

In this regard, on 30 September, together with Toshelectroapparat, the installation of modern electricity control and metering devices for consumers of Naryn and Uchkurgan districts of Namangan region was started. For reference, in Naryn district, it is planned to install new-type electric energy metering devices to 30,707 for residential consumers, 2,879 for legal entities, as well as for 35,041 household and 2,339 wholesale consumers of Uchkurgan distict.

Currently, more than 1.6 million modern electricity meters have been installed in 53 cities and regions of the country. By the end of this year, the installation of such devices will be completed for 2.5 million consumers; by the end of 2020, 7 million consumers will be equipped with new-type electric energy meters.

Installation of modern electricity metering devices is free of charge at the expense of JSC Regional Electric Networks.
