Innovation center for the production of vaccines to be created in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 September, within the framework of the Samarkand SCO summit, an online meeting was held between Minister of Innovative Development Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov and the head of Luye Investment Group Co., Ltd. 

During the meeting, the sides signed a memorandum of organization of the Innovation center for the production of vaccines worth US$100 million in 2023-2028.

Also at the meeting, the official representative of the company, Liu Dianbo, highly appreciated the work carried out by the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan on the creation and production of a vaccine against coronavirus infection.

The Vaccine Innovation Center will be the only full-cycle biotech enterprise in Central Asia, which will allow delivering high-tech products to the local and CIS markets. The project envisages the production of 200 million doses of 10 types of vaccines against hepatitis A, hepatitis B, papillomavirus, measles, tetanus and other diseases worth US$2 billion per year.

Taking into account the science intensity of this full-cycle biotechnological production enterprise and attracting highly qualified scientific specialists in the future, it is proposed to create an “Innovation Center for Vaccines” in the Tashkent region.
