Industrial Production in Uzbekistan Exceeds 660 Trillion Soums for January–August 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan produced industrial goods worth 660.2 trillion soums from January to August 2025, marking a 6.4% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Committee.

As of 1 September, the country had 59,000 industrial enterprises in operation. The largest numbers were in food production — 11,900 enterprises (20.1%), other non-metallic mineral products — 8,500 (14.4%), clothing — 6,000 (10.1%), fabricated metal products — 4,700 (8%), furniture — 4,000 (6.9%), textiles — 3,700 (6.2%), and rubber and plastic products — 2,800 (4.7%).

The average industrial output per capita nationwide was 17.5 million soums. Above-average levels were recorded in Navoi Region (109.1 million soums), Tashkent City (40.1 million), Tashkent Region (32.2 million), and Andijan Region (17.7 million). Industrial production per capita grew by 104.3% nationwide, while Jizzakh Region saw 111.4%, Navoi 107.2%, and Khorezm 107.1%.

The bulk of industrial output came from the manufacturing sector — 561.2 trillion soums, or 85% of total production. Mining and quarrying contributed 49.8 trillion (7.5%), electricity, gas, steam supply and air conditioning — 45.5 trillion (6.9%), and water supply and waste management — 3.7 trillion soums (0.6%).

Over the eight-month period, Uzbekistan produced 28.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas, 434,500 tons of crude oil, 4.7 million tons of coal, 770,300 tons of gasoline, 785,800 tons of diesel fuel, 13.3 million tons of cement, 402,000 tons of yarn, and 766,100 tons of wheat flour.

Within manufacturing, food, beverage, and tobacco production accounted for 19.4%, while textiles, clothing, leather, and related products comprised 15.3%. Production of fabricated metal products, equipment, computers, electronics, machinery, vehicles, and repair services accounted for 18.6%, and chemical, rubber, and plastic products — 7%.

By technological level, high-tech manufacturing accounted for 1.1% of manufacturing output, medium-high-tech — 19.8%, medium-low-tech — 39.8%, and low-tech — 39.3%.

Electricity production rose to 103.2% of last year’s level, while thermal energy production by major enterprises declined to 88.5%. Textile waste production increased by 29.1%, wastewater treatment and purification services grew by 10.5%, and services for emptying and processing cesspools, settling tanks, and septic systems rose by 1.9%.
