India hands over copies of Babur’s manuscripts to Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov visited the National Museum of India in Delhi.

The National Museum of India is the main historical and artistic treasury of the country, which has the richest collection of antiquities, archaeological treasures of the oldest civilizations, as well as exhibits of culture and ethnic diversity.

Currently, the museum stores over 200,000 works of art of Indian and foreign origin.

According to the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the delegation of Uzbekistan visited a special gallery dedicated to Central Asia, mainly related to the era of the Baburids, which demonstrates the centuries-old and fruitful ties of Central Asian region with Hindustan.

Uzbek Embassy in India reached agreement with the Indian side on transfer of the copies of manuscript “Diwan-i-Babur” to Uzbekistan. The agreement was reached within execution of the instruction of the President on returning the artifacts of the historical and cultural heritage of the Uzbek people to Uzbekistan.

During the visit, the General Director of the National Museum of India Budha Rashmi Mani officially presented the copies of the manuscript and miniatures to the Uzbek delegation. They will be handed over to the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan.
