Inbound Tourism from China to Uzbekistan Surpasses 200,000 Visitors

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is witnessing a significant rise in tourists from the People’s Republic of China, one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing travel markets.

Extensive efforts to promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in China have yielded tangible results, particularly under the declared “Year of Uzbekistan Tourism in China 2025.”

Throughout the year, major Chinese cities and provinces hosted presentations showcasing Uzbekistan’s tourism offerings, including roadshows and participation in leading international exhibitions in Xi’an, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong, where Uzbekistan featured its national pavilion.

Special emphasis was placed on strengthening direct connections between tourism companies of the two countries. During these events, over 500 Chinese tour operators participated in B2B negotiations, resulting in more than 40 cooperation agreements.

A major boost to tourism exchange came with the introduction of a visa-free regime between Uzbekistan and China on June 1, 2025. This measure opened new opportunities for mutual travel and expanded business contacts in the tourism sector.

From January to October 2025, Uzbekistan received 217,000 Chinese visitors. By the end of the year, the figure is expected to reach 250,000 tourists.

These results exceed the annual target of 180,000 visitors by 40% and are 3.7 times higher than last year’s figures. The rapid growth reflects the successful implementation of the President’s goal to increase the number of Chinese tourists to 1 million in the coming years.
