Import of counterfeit drug "Komaston" detected

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Prosecutor General Office of Uzbekistan is carrying inspection of foreign enterprise in Samarkand city, which imported counterfeit drug "Komaston" of Indian production.

Laboratory tests showed that the medicament has no main active ingredient “Didrogesterone”.

Inspection showed that in 2018, the foreign company officials registered this “medicament” under trademark Komaston in Uzbekistan. They imported over 115,500 medicaments.

About 76,530 of them were sold in Uzbekistan for 4.82 billion soums. Immediate measures were taken to withdraw the medicament from the market.

The criminal case was opened and investigation is underway.
