Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 August 2020, a working group led by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and consisting of heads of ministries, departments, industry associations and commercial banks in an off-site format got acquainted with the implementation of investment projects in Akaltyn , Mirzaabad and Sardoba districts of Syrdarya region, aimed at restoring economic production activities, increasing export potential, providing employment to the local population and comprehensive socio-economic development of the region.

In the period 2020-2021, in these regions, it is planned to implement 323 new investment projects with a total cost of about 2.4 trillion soums with the creation of about 10 thousand jobs, of which 23 projects worth 862.0 billion soums envisages the creation of large industrial enterprises that are of high importance for the development of industry, agriculture farms and services, which will be put into operation before 1 September 2020, which will employ about 7 thousand people.

These enterprises are located in the immediate vicinity of residential areas under construction, intended for residents who suffered from the consequences of the breakthrough of the dam of the Sardobin reservoir and are focused primarily on ensuring their employment, including through the establishment of cooperation on the basis of home work.

It was revealed that as of the current moment 94 projects worth 152.3 billion soums have already been implemented and put into operation. At the same time, within the framework of 99 projects, work is currently underway on the construction of production facilities, and for another 107 projects, procurement and delivery of technological equipment for further installation has been carried out.

During visits to enterprises and communication with the initiators of the projects, a number of problems were also identified related to the need to connect to utilities, the organization of sending imported equipment and foreign specialists to Uzbekistan for installation, and commissioning and other issues.

Based on the results of the working trip, the executives were given targeted instructions for the prompt solution of the identified problems, indicating specific deadlines. It was also noted the need for the relevant ministries and sectoral departments to carry out systematic work to provide comprehensive support to the initiators of investment projects in these areas in order to accelerate their implementation.

Special attention was paid to the issue of organizing the export of products of newly created enterprises, in connection with which the advisers on trade and economic issues in the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad were tasked with taking measures to assist in finding potential customers and establishing supplies to foreign markets.
