IMF Discusses Macroeconomic Stability Measures with Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 26 March, a delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by the Head of Mission to Uzbekistan Yasser Abdihaj, held a meeting with Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, Umid Abidhadjaev.

During the discussions, both sides reviewed ongoing reforms aimed at supporting economic growth, measures to ensure macroeconomic stability, and priority areas for economic development.

The Ministry of Economy presented a detailed overview of key macroeconomic indicators, drivers of growth, medium-term forecasts, and internal and external economic risks.

IMF representatives highly appreciated the measures being implemented to maintain macroeconomic stability and promote growth, emphasizing the importance of continuing a balanced approach to economic policy.

The parties also discussed global economic growth trends, expectations for the world economy, and potential external risks affecting Uzbekistan.
