Illegal Sale of Medical Drugs Uncovered in Ferghana Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Authorities in the Uzbek district of Ferghana Region uncovered illegal activities by an unregistered entrepreneur.
A 1990-born citizen, acting as a private entrepreneur, was selling medical drugs at a non-residential property he owned without the required permits.
During a joint operation conducted by the State Security Service, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, and the Customs Committee, officials seized 41,319 units of medicines across 66 different names. Among them, 56 names (36,361 units) were sold without conformity certificates.
The total value of the confiscated drugs is estimated at 1.565 billion soums.
A criminal case has been opened against the suspect under Part 3, Article 186³(a) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and investigative actions are ongoing.
