Illegal Hunting of Wild Ducks Uncovered in Syrdarya Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An incident of illegal hunting was uncovered during a raid in Syrdarya Region.
Employees of the Syrdarya Waterbody Control Department under the State Environmental Control Inspectorate, together with staff from the Kolgansir State Forestry and Hunting Enterprise, as well as officers from the State Security Service (SSS) and the regional Department of Internal Affairs, conducted an inspection in the territory of the Sholikor Water Users’ Association, adjacent to the state forestry and hunting enterprise.
The inspection revealed that four individuals, using personal hunting weapons and without the required permits, illegally killed nine wild ducks.
Each violator was fined 8,240,000 soums, equivalent to 20 times the basic calculation unit, bringing the total fines to 32,960,000 soums. In addition, damage to nature was assessed at 3,708,000 soums, which is also to be compensated by the offenders.
Raids aimed at protecting wildlife and preventing poaching continue in the region.
