Illegal Gold and Silver Trade Busted in Namangan and Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —Law enforcement agencies in Namangan region and Tashkent have disrupted illegal activities involving the trade of precious metals.
In Davlatabad district of Namangan region, officers detained two men attempting to sell a gold bar. The deal was intercepted when they tried to sell one bar for $8,500 and 420,000 soums. Expert analysis confirmed that the seized metal weighed nearly 89 grams and contained 99.5% pure gold.
A similar case occurred in the capital, where authorities apprehended a group attempting to sell 11 silver bars weighing a total of 11.5 kilograms for $35,000.
