IDB issues US$57.5m to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Board of Executive Directors of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) approved allocation of US$57.5 million funds to Uzbekistan on 10 March 2015.

According to the bank, the funds will be used to implement the Syrdarya Region Sewerage Improvement Project in Uzbekistan.

Total cost of the project is US$157 million. It envisages to reconstruct and expand sewerage systems of Gulistan, Shirin and Yangiyer.

The project will be also financed due to resources of other international financial institutes and the Uzbek side.
