ICT solutions as a driver of accelerated digital economy growth in the 5G era

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 21 to 25 April 2025, Huawei held a large-scale industry event in Uzbekistan — Digital Week 2025, bringing together more than 400 professionals from the information and communication technology (ICT) sector.

Throughout the week, participants visited Huawei’s Innovation Center, where the company showcased its latest technologies aimed at the digital transformation of key economic sectors.

In the exhibition hall, guests explored current ICT trends, including practical applications of artificial intelligence, and were introduced to new products presented at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2025) in Barcelona.

Among the first guests were representatives of Uzbekistan’s telecommunications operators — Huawei’s strategic partners for over 25 years. During the sessions and presentations, Huawei experts shared their vision for the development of mobile and fixed-line communications in the context of rapid 5G, AI, and cloud adoption.

In a specially equipped conference hall, discussions focused on transforming telecom operators’ business models — moving from traditional communication services to next-generation digital services aimed at enhancing user experience.

Government and corporate representatives were presented with case studies on digital transformation across various sectors. Participants learned how advanced ICT solutions are modernizing transportation infrastructure (including smart traffic systems and airports), mining, banking, healthcare, education, and retail.

Special attention was given to the development of cloud infrastructure, high-performance data centers, and storage systems — essential components of effective digital transformation. Huawei introduced cutting-edge solutions for building data centers of various scales and highlighted progress in digital energy and sustainable power technologies. The company reaffirmed its commitment to investing in energy-efficient innovation.

A dedicated session of Digital Week 2025 focused on cooperation with the media. Journalists were introduced to technologies accelerating digital advancement in the media industry. Huawei's ICT infrastructure expert in Uzbekistan, Reshat Boltaev, gave a presentation titled “Digital Solutions for Media,” covering key trends such as high-quality content broadcasting (including 4K), use of cloud services, augmented and virtual reality, AI analytics, and 3D visualization.

Particular emphasis was placed on Huawei MetaStudio — a cloud platform for content creation featuring visual and voice modeling, editing, rendering, and streaming. This tool opens up new possibilities for producing engaging content and monetizing digital projects.

Huawei has been operating in Uzbekistan for over 25 years, actively contributing to the development of the country’s national ICT infrastructure. Its showroom, opened in 2016, has served as a hub for innovation, partner dialogue, and educational tours for students and schoolchildren.

In 2024, Huawei launched its official Experience Store in Tashkent, continuing its commitment to technological openness. On 1 April 2025, new Huawei brand zones were ceremonially opened in Tashkent and Samarkand at Mobiuz customer service centers.
