ICAC to Cooperate with Uzbekistan and Bizpando on Regenerative Agriculture
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Government of Uzbekistan has allocated 55,000 hectares of land for the implementation of a regenerative cotton farming program as part of a joint initiative with the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) and the company Bizpando, which uses a blockchain platform to ensure transparency and compliance with standards across the supply chain.
ICAC Chief Scientist Dr. Keshav Kranti conducted an intensive three-day training course from 21 to 23 October 2025 at the Cotton Institute in Tashkent, combining theoretical lessons with practical field demonstrations. The program was attended by 50 participants, including scientists and representatives of the Government of Uzbekistan.
Following this, on 24 October 2025, a one-day field training camp was held in Jizzakh under the guidance of Dr. Kranti and Dr. Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, with 98 farmers participating. Representatives from Bizpando, Jasper Bhowmik and Mark Lee, also took part in the event.
Subsequently, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, along with senior officials Javlon Raimov and Abrorak Kosimov, visited the ICAC headquarters in Washington, where Minister Abdurakhmonov, Dr. Kranti, and Bizpando CEO Jasper Bhowmik signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation.
Currently, the Ministry of Agriculture is identifying laboratories for carbon testing to be accredited and certified, consulting with Dr. Kranti, who provides technical guidance on testing standards and accreditation procedures.
The Ministry has provided Bizpando with a list of participating farmers to begin registration and documentation for the carbon credit payment process. Bizpando will send Mark Lee to Uzbekistan from 17 to 21 November 2025 to train farmers and government officials on the procedures for documenting carbon credits and processing payments.
