Human Rights Watch delegation hold talks at Senate
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Svetlana Artikova held a meeting with a delegation of the international non-governmental organization Human Rights Watch, headed by the Director for Europe and Central Asia Hugh Williamson.

At the beginning of the conversation, the Vice-Chairman of the Senate briefed the delegation about Strategy of actions for the five priority development directions of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021, which is aimed improving the efficiency of the reforms, creating conditions for ensuring comprehensive and accelerated the development of the state and society, the implementation of priority areas for the modernization of the country and the liberalization of all spheres of life.

It was also noted that in line with these aspirations, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced in 2017 - "The Year of Dialogue with the People and Human Interests", based on the desire to ensure a decent standard of living for people, to introduce new effective mechanisms for feedback from the population with a view to timely solutions to their vital problems, as well as to strengthen the role and responsibility of state bodies for the solution of the tasks set.
