Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 12 April in the morning in one of the two-story residential buildings of Kattakurgan in Samarkand region, an outbreak of a gas-air mixture occurred.

As a result, a partial collapse of the building occurred. Unfortunately, three people died, four were injured of varying severity.

After studying the situation, the forensics became aware of the details of a domestic gas explosion in Kattakurgan, in which three people were killed.

In order to study the causes of the emergency, Hududgaz Samarkand promptly formed a working group of specialists led by Director General Kholmurod Bobomurodov.

A two-story house without a basement with two entrances, in which there was an outbreak of a gas-air mixture, was built in 1960 and connected to a gas supply system. The apartments had gas stoves, but there was no heating system.

“The reason for the tragedy was the usual negligence when using gas appliances. Residents of the apartment put a kettle on a gas stove and left the kitchen. Boiling water extinguished the fire, resulting in a dangerous concentration of gas. The landlord, without ventilating the room, lit a match, which led to an outbreak of gas-air mixture,” the Hududgaztaminot press service noted.

According to experts, in the apartment where the incident occurred, a Brest gas stove with four rings was installed, which corresponded to the technical requirements, and the gas pipes were in good condition.
