Huawei Opens Branch in Namangan and Launches Smart City and AI Laboratory Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Hokim of Namangan Region, Shavkatjon Abdurazzoqov, received a delegation from Huawei headed by Dilimulati Maimati, the company’s manager for China’s Eastern Region. During the meeting, the parties discussed large-scale IT projects, achievements in digitalization, and the conditions being created to support these initiatives.

The sides agreed to establish an artificial intelligence laboratory at Namangan State Technical University and to introduce “smart classrooms” in general education schools.

These initiatives are aimed at digitalizing the learning process, expanding the use of interactive educational tools, and developing students’ IT competencies.

In addition, the Smart City concept will be implemented in Namangan on a phased basis, enabling the application of advanced digital solutions in public safety, utility services, transport management, and environmental monitoring.

The most significant development was the opening of an official Huawei branch in the region. The branch will train IT specialists for international markets and provide export-oriented digital services.

The Hokim of the region emphasized that the agreements with Huawei will represent an important step in the development of Namangan’s digital infrastructure and the formation of an innovation ecosystem, opening up new opportunities for education and technological progress.
