Huawei Digital Economy Forum 2025 Held in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 September, the second day of ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2025, the Huawei Digital Economy Forum 2025 took place at the CAEx Exhibition Center. The event was organized with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the NGO “IT Education Association.”
The forum gathered representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the Center for Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence Research, the Digital Government Project Management Center, UZTELECOM, Uzum, IT Park Uzbekistan, Tashkent University of Information Technologies, the Global Computing Consortium, and Huawei.
The program featured a series of thematic sessions dedicated to the prospects of digital transformation, the integration of artificial intelligence, and the development of innovative partnerships. Dr. Mohamed Madkour, Vice President of ICT Strategy and Marketing for Huawei in the Middle East and Central Asia, served as moderator. In his opening remarks, he emphasized that the forum provides a unique platform uniting government bodies, international experts, and leading digital market players to exchange experience and jointly seek new solutions.
Key points highlighted during discussions included:
Uzbekistan’s significant progress in building a digital economy and fostering a favorable investment climate;
modernization of telecommunications infrastructure and active innovation in both public and private sectors;
advancement of the “Digital Uzbekistan 2030” strategy, which prioritizes the development of cloud services, artificial intelligence, the startup ecosystem, and IT export potential.
Special attention was given to creating a unified digital ecosystem based on advanced technologies. Representatives of Huawei and national companies underscored the importance of deploying cloud platforms, data centers, and 5G networks as key drivers of digitalization.
According to experts, the development of digital government and cloud services not only enhances the transparency and efficiency of public services but also provides businesses with scalable solutions, reducing costs and unlocking new opportunities for growth.
Panel sessions featured representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, IT Park Uzbekistan, the Center for Digital Economy and AI Research, and international partners. Practical case studies were presented on the application of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, e-government, and educational programs in science and digital technologies.
The forum brought together over 150 participants, including representatives of government agencies, international organizations, private companies, and the expert community.
It served as an important platform for discussing strategic priorities in digital transformation and strengthening Uzbekistan’s position as one of the region’s key IT hubs.
