House Museum of Traditional Uzbek Bread Opens in Bukhara
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A House Museum dedicated to traditional Uzbek bread has opened in the Ushot settlement of Jondor district, Bukhara region, the press service of the Bukhara Regional Tourism Department reported.
The main goal of the project is to promote the traditions of bread-making and the culture of Uzbek hospitality among both local and international tourists.
The museum’s informational exhibits detail the journey of bread — from wheat cultivation and dough preparation to baking flatbread in a tandoor. This allows visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the significance of simple Uzbek bread in the country’s culture and daily life.
In addition to the museum, 20 houses in the settlement have been renovated and adapted for tourist visits. In each, travelers can learn hands-on about the secrets of Uzbek baking, national cuisine, and local traditions.
