Honored Artist Olimjon Toshkenboev Passes Away at 81

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Honored Artist of Uzbekistan Olimjon Toshkenboev, a prominent figure in the country’s circus arts, has passed away at the age of 81, the Ministry of Culture reported.

For many years, Toshkenboev led the troupe “Uzbekiston Dorbozlari,” which specializes in the traditional art of tightrope walking. Under his leadership, the group successfully performed in Poland, Germany, Egypt, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Ecuador.

In addition to his work with the troupe, Toshkenboev served as a director at the Uzbek State Circus association, where he trained numerous students and made a significant contribution to the development of Uzbekistan’s circus arts.

The Ministry of Culture expressed its deep condolences to the family and relatives of Olimjon Toshkenboev.
