Hokim of Ferghana Region Discusses Agricultural Machinery and Pharmaceutical Projects with Chinese Investors
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Khayrullo Bozorov, Hokim of Ferghana Region, held a meeting with major Chinese investors who are implementing promising projects in the region and have expressed interest in expanding their investments.
The meeting, attended by Yuan Yanping, Chairman of Ferghana Khan’s Blood – Baoma Machinery Engineering Ltd., and his partners, focused on the current status and progress of a project to produce modern agricultural machinery at the Kokand Free Economic Zone branch in the city of Kuvasay. The investors also presented proposals in the medical sector, including the potential establishment of production for advanced hemostatic drugs and more than 130 types of pharmaceuticals meeting international standards. It was noted that the region possesses the necessary raw material base to support these initiatives.
Hokim Bozorov expressed support for these proposals and suggested creating a pharmaceutical cluster—a specialized zone with scientific laboratories. He also signaled readiness to cooperate on the construction of housing and infrastructure facilities, taking into account the nature of the investors’ activities.
In addition, the regional head held talks with Liu Huyem, Chairman of Chengli Group. The discussion emphasized strengthening friendly and trust-based relations between Uzbekistan and China, as well as the growing number of enterprises involving Chinese capital in the region due to a favorable investment climate. Chengli Group manufactures over 200 types of specialized equipment for public utilities, construction, fire safety, industry, and logistics. Opportunities to establish certain production lines in Ferghana Region were also discussed.
During the talks, Khairullo Bozorov highlighted the importance of producing export-oriented, competitive, and high-quality products, introducing modern technologies, and creating new jobs. Measures were agreed upon to advance the projects toward practical implementation.
