Helios Energy to build 40 MW solar photovoltaic plant in Namangan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An agreement was signed with Helios Energy to develop and build an energy-saving solar photovoltaic installation in Namangan, Uzbekistan.

In accordance with the agreement, Helios Energy will purchase, build and control the installation of a 40 megawatt photovoltaic installation in the free economic zone of Namangan city.

The solar power plant will provide clean, renewable energy to meet the demand for electricity in an area that is already undergoing rapid transformation.

Speaking to the media at the Investments in Namangan International Investment Forum in June this year, Helios Energy CEO Jeremy Tan said: “The sun is the future, and there is great potential for a progressive partnership in this exciting and ambitious region.”

An agreement between Helios Energy and the Ministry of Innovative Development underscores Uzbekistan’s commitment to installing a 4 GW solar photovoltaic system by 2031. Construction is expected to begin at the end of this year and be completed by the end of 2020.
