Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the evening of 5 April 2026, intense rainfall was recorded across several regions of Uzbekistan, leading to rising water levels and mudflows. The data was reported by Uzhydromet meteorological stations. No casualties or damage have been reported.

In the Kattakurgan district of Samarkand region, 9 mm of precipitation fell at the Mavlyansay hydrological post between 19:10 and 19:50. As a result, the water level rose by 5 centimeters, though no hazardous conditions were observed.

A more serious situation developed in the Beruniy district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. At around 19:35, heavy rainfall triggered a mudflow descending from elevated terrain toward the Sultan-Uvaysiy ziyarat site. According to the Mangit agrometeorological post, precipitation in the area reached 21.8 mm by 20:00, with rainfall continuing.

In the Gallaaral district of Jizzakh region, a mudflow with a volume of approximately 3 to 3.5 cubic meters passed through the settlement of Kuytosh at around 21:15, also caused by prolonged heavy rains.
