Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 May 2020, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz Mehriddin Abdullayev held talks via videoconference with the President of Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. (Republic of Korea) Mr. Kim Jong-hak.

The chairman of the board noted that Uzbekneftegaz and Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. in close partnership for several years successfully implemented and continue to implement a number of strategic projects in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the management of the companies discussed the implementation of the project for the construction of the GTL plant in Kashkadarya region.

The parties noted the need to make joint efforts to complete the construction of the plant on time.

Also, Mehriddin Abdullaev highlighted the measures taken by Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. on timely and complete fulfillment of their obligations under the GTL project, despite the situation with the pandemic of the coronavirus COVID-19.

As a result of the videoconferencing, the parties reached an agreement to continue the implementation of joint projects, as well as the need to start developing new areas of cooperation.

Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. is one of the general contractors of the project for the production of synthetic liquid fuels based on the Gas-To-Liquid (GTL) technology in Kashkadarya region.

The $ 3.6 billion project will process 3.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas and produce 1.5 million tons of high-quality synthetic fuel annually. Completion of construction works is scheduled for December 2020.
