Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 July 2020, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ambassador Eduards Stiprais on the occasion of the completion of his mission in our country.
An exchange of views took place on the state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU in the political, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
The parties discussed the schedule of upcoming joint events, including the issue of holding in Tashkent the Ministerial Conference "European Union - Central Asia" on strengthening interconnection and sustainable development of the Central Asian region.
The key importance of trade, economic and investment cooperation, the participation of the EU in the implementation of investment projects and programs aimed at solving practical problems to strengthen interaction in the field of digitalization of the sectors of the economy, science and culture, as well as the educational sphere was emphasized.
They noted the need to further increase the volume of mutual trade, which made up US$4 billion in 2019.
At the end of the conversation, the Minister expressed his gratitude to the head of the EU Delegation for the fruitful work and significant contribution to strengthening friendly ties between Uzbekistan and the European Union.
Eduards Stiprais sincerely thanked for the comprehensive assistance provided in the implementation of his activities as the head of the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan.
