The Belgian business circles arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in Uzbek-Belgian business forum with two-day visit.
Welcoming the delegation at the opening of the business forum, Sterk briefed the participants on development of trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and EU, projects implemented by EU to economic and social development of the country, including in agriculture sector. He noted that EU allocated 170 million euros for next seven years to develop agriculture in Uzbekistan.
Another project is a EU Programme for management training, which allows to organize internship for managers of small and medium businesses at European companies and exchange experience.
The EU envoy also briefed participants on measures, adopted by EU in cooperation with Uzbekistan, on improving business and investment climate in Uzbekistan.
At the same time, he said that the EU continues to promote full currency exchange, simplification of legislation and membership to the WTO as efficient tool to expand trade between Uzbekistan and the EU.
Speaking about the perspective directions of bilateral trade for European companies, he said that exports of equipment, technologies and solutions remain key areas.
At the end of the meeting, the EU Ambassador called businesses to establish fruitful relations with their Uzbek partners and sign mutual beneficial deals.
