Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Japan and Uzbekistan are important strategic partners based on friendship, mutual trust and respect. During the visit of the Uzbek delegation to Japan in 2019, a number of agreements were signed between the Uztekstilprom Association and the Japanese company Masui Holdings Co. Ltd, an agreement was reached on joint work on the production of Uzbek textile products with Japanese quality.
Masui Holdings Co. Ltd is a Japanese textile trading company that holds the BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) certificate and adheres to the principles of sustainable development, corporate social responsibility and environmental protection by producing environmentally friendly products.
The joint Uzbek-Japanese project Samarkandaria® is a project to use cotton yarn spun from high quality long cotton fiber (30 mm) imported from carefully selected factories in Uzbekistan, which is then used to produce high quality towels and ready-to-wear clothes in Japan. In addition, Masui Holdings Co. Ltd organized a mini-exhibition of textile products from Uzbek cotton yarn. This project was highly appreciated by buyers.
Also, the Samarkandaria® Education Support Project is aimed at developing the local economy and supporting local children studying Japanese at the NORIKO Gakkyu school located in Ferghana region of Rishtan, Uzbekistan.
