Gulnara Karimova participates in blitz-briefing in Tashkent region

She talked about Fund Forum, projects of other funds, activities of Googoosha and GULI. The blitz-briefing was organized at the initiative of the participants of media camp.

The briefing was started with question on young people from Uzbekistan, who are leaving to work abroad.

Gulnara Karimov said that today the issue discussed actively. But she said that people, who work abroad, should be divided into groups – professionals, who work abroad, and unskilled workers, who want to send money to Uzbekistan to their relatives and family. She noted that these are two various categories and corresponding discussions should take place.

Karimov said that professionals are educated people, who know Uzbek, Russian and foreign languages. She said that they can be met in the Asian countries. She noted that it is pity to see people working as waiters. She added that people are learning fast and after several years they occupy serious places in management. Of course, it is pleasant to see person from Uzbekistan in serious shop or organization. It is pleasant to see that this person better orients compared to others. She said that for her it is a pain to see such people. “Leaving these premises, I feel that these people could work in other area,” she said. At the same time, she said that she understands demand for professional labour and there is offer, where is demand.

There are two sides of this issue, she said. First of all, it is working places in Uzbekistan and employment, the second is demand and market – level of opportunities and demands, which can be put forward by the society.

“I am sure that each of these people would work in those places, where they are family living. Uzbeks are not nations, which live to travel worldwide. I believe that if to create corresponding programs and motivation for those professionals, about 90% of them would work in Uzbekistan,” she said. She added that self-governing bodies and organizations could play key role in this issue. She said that if put such a goal, it can be achieved.

Gulnara Karimova also talked about support to small and medium businesses Uzbekistan as Fund Forum and its partner organizations support entrepreneurship in the country via various projects and programmes.

Karimova said if to talk about realities, it is difficult to be entrepreneur in Uzbekistan. She said there is crisis in the world, but if all legislative documents worked, it is sure that businesses will prosper. She said that small businesses could be locomotive of the society.

She said that recently Uzbekistan adopted a decree on support of small and medium businesses, especially in their exports. She noted that the President outlined measures on supporting exports of the products of the small businesses, but expressed doubt that the decree will be implemented. She said that usually instructions are issued to each decree or resolution and the meaning of the first document is distorted.

She noted that School of young businesses was initiated by Kelajak Ovozi and master classes on doing business were organized within the school. She said that several young businesspeople graduated the school and they received grants to support their businesses.

During the briefing, Gulnara Karimova also spoke about her creative work as Googosha and development of her brand GULI, support of theatres, opinion of people about her, etc.
