Gulnara Karimova hands over grants to students of Islamic educational institutes
The ceremony of handing over grants has been held at Bakhouddin Naqshbandi memorial complex in Kagan district of Bukhara region. The event was held within the Sixth Festival of Traditional Culture “Asrlar Sadosi”.
Within the project, 20 students of 10 Islamic educational establishments of Uzbekistan received certificates for stipends, which will they receive each month within the academic year.
Also, representatives of several religious education schools were presented with certificates for the supply of computers for the schools.
Launched in 2005 by Mehr Nuri Foundation, the Program of Support for Spiritual Enlightenment is an effort to preserve and enrich Uzbekistan’s spiritual legacy, help modernize the educational system and boost tolerance and mutual understanding in society.
This major project seeks to provide material and technical support for spiritual education schools through supplying them with books, school and office equipment and appliances. Also, the most promising students have been honored with one-off stipends. Since 2012, students have received scholarships during one academic year. Over the past 8 years, the Foundation has provided 11 Islamic educational institutions with 114.869 million soums worth of material support.
