Green Spaces in Mirzo-Ulugbek District Put Under Control

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Social media circulated a video claiming destruction of green spaces at 30-A Akkurgan Street in Tashkent’s Mirzo-Ulugbek district.

An official investigation was conducted involving the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change and the Tashkent City Department of Ecology and Climate Change.

According to Shohjahon Abdurakhmonov, an inspector from the district ecology department, the review confirmed that no permits had been issued by authorities for construction or concrete work on the adjacent green area, and no environmental assessment had been conducted.

At the same time, the inspection found no evidence of tree cutting or destruction in the area.

The entrepreneur involved received an official order prohibiting any damage or removal of greenery, submitted a guarantee letter, and was issued a formal warning.

All fruit-bearing and decorative trees in the area are now under permanent supervision by the Tashkent City Department of Ecology and Climate Change to prevent future incidents.
