Grandmother and Granddaughter Die from Poisoning in Tashkent Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Yukorichirchik District of Tashkent Region, a 68-year-old woman and her 8-year-old granddaughter died from poisoning by an unknown substance, the General Prosecutor’s Office reported.

According to the agency, on November 25 the victims, along with a 12-year-old child, were admitted to the district medical center with symptoms consistent with poisoning.

Despite the efforts of the intensive care unit doctors, the lives of the woman and her granddaughter could not be saved. The 12-year-old child is receiving treatment.

Medical reports indicate that the diagnosis for all victims is “poisoning by a substance of unidentified etiology.”

The Yukorichirchik District Prosecutor’s Office is conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident, which is under special control.
