Govn’t bans to force businesses to participate in charity

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan introduced a ban for forcing business entities to participate and other events, related with allocation of funds.

The Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On measures on ensuring transparency and efficient use of donated financial resources of business entities by the budget organizations” on 7 August 2014.

The resolution said that the business entities can provide donations to charity on voluntary and unselfish bases. The document it is banned to force businesses to make donations or finance other events.

The resolution approved a regulation on order of use donations of business entities by the budget organizations.

The regulation said that the donation of business entities should be accumulated and used via of-budget treasury accounts of budget organizations.

Property, handed over to budget organizations by businesses entities as charity contribution, should be recorded in line with the current legislation.

The donations can be received only with the agreement, signed between budget organizations and business entities.

The resources, received from businesses, will be directed to improving material-technical base of the budget organizations, if else was not indicated in the agreement.

The property, donated to budget organization by the business entity, should be used in line with the agreement.

The business entities have right to inspect targeted use of donated resources at any stage of their use.

The regulations said that the heads and senior accountants of the budget organizations are responsible for targeted use of donated resources, as well as preparing reports on use of the resources.

The heads and senior accountants of the budget organizations will be responsible in line with the legislation for forcing business entities to participate in the charity.
