Governor of Surkhandarya Meets with EU Ambassador Toivo Klaar

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Ulugbek Kasimov, Governor of Surkhandarya Region, held a meeting with a European Union delegation led by the EU Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Toivo Klaar.

During the discussion, the parties talked about the organization of the 10th European Film Festival in Termez and emphasized the significance of this event for strengthening cultural ties between Uzbekistan and the European Union. Ulugbek Kasimov expressed gratitude to the ambassador for supporting the initiative and assisting in the festival’s organization.

The meeting also addressed prospects for expanding cooperation between the region and EU countries in areas such as trade, transport and logistics, education, healthcare, and digitalization.

Participants noted that culture and the arts play a key role in fostering mutual understanding and friendship between nations.

As part of the 10th European Film Festival, film screenings will be held on November 12 at the Termez Youth Center, featuring works by European directors, including Decadent No. 2419 (Lithuania), Queen of the Ring (Austria), and Divertissimo (France).
