Governor of Ferghana Region Discusses Launch of High-Tech Industries with Chinese Investors

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The visit of the Ferghana regional delegation to China is already yielding tangible results. The Governor of Ferghana Region, Khayrullo Bozorov, held a meeting with a delegation led by Ye Weifei, Vice President of the Chinese company AVCiT Technology Holding.

During the April visit to China, productive agreements were reached with a number of prominent companies, and concrete joint projects based on these agreements are now being implemented in the region.

The meeting focused on prospects for cooperation in several key areas, including the creation of a technology park, digitalization, and the development of the energy sector. AVCiT, a leading high-tech company, specializes in the production of security systems and software. The proposals and projects put forward for implementation in the region were discussed in detail.

Special attention was also given to the initiatives of another Chinese company — Guangzhou Victel Technology Co., Ltd. A company representative shared their experience in the telecommunications sector and presented a project for installing experimental broadband wireless base stations in Ferghana based on a specialized network. In addition, a concept for the construction of a technology park was introduced.

The governor highlighted the importance of these initiatives and noted that implementation should proceed in phases — starting with pilot projects, which can later be scaled up. During the meeting, responsible parties were assigned, and concrete measures were defined to accelerate project implementation.

It was noted that Chinese investor interest in the region’s investment climate is steadily growing, particularly in regard to special industrial zones. One Chinese company, for example, expressed its intention to launch a business in Ferghana, with an initial investment of US$5 million in a transformer production project.

The regional governor expressed full support for the proposed initiatives, emphasizing the importance of attracting advanced technologies, establishing modern manufacturing facilities, and creating new jobs. At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed on specific steps to ensure the prompt launch of production activities, following a clear and phased action plan.
