Government of Uzbekistan Plans to Attract US$5 Billion in External Borrowing in 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Next year, Uzbekistan plans to attract US$5 billion in external borrowing, the Ministry of Finance reported. By comparison, in 2025, the volume of external borrowings amounted to US$5.5 billion.

Of the planned amount, US$2.5 billion will be allocated to support the state budget, while the remaining US$2.5 billion will be used to finance investment projects.

The net volume of government securities issuance on behalf of the Republic is set at 30 trillion soums.

Meanwhile, the upper limit for the cost of new public-private partnership (PPP) projects is established at US$6.5 billion.
