Government of Tajikistan is considering the possibility of restoring direct flights between Dushanbe and Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In October, after a seven-month break, it is planned to resume direct flights on the routes Dushanbe - Istanbul (Turkey) and Dushanbe - Urumqi (China), Dunyo news agency reported.

The National News Agency of Tajikistan "Khovar" refers to the director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of Ikrom Subkhonzoda, who said: “Flights on the routes Dushanbe - Istanbul and Dushanbe - Urumqi are resumed in accordance with the decision of the Republican Headquarters for the prevention of the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, as well as with taking into account the strict observance of the sanitary and epidemiological rules ”.

Ikrom Subhonzoda confirmed that flights to Istanbul and back will be operated twice a week by Somon Air and Turkish Airlines. Direct flights to Urumqi will be operated once every two weeks by Somon Air and China Southern Airlines, depending on the number of passengers.

The official said the Government of Tajikistan is considering the possibility of restoring direct flights between Dushanbe and Tashkent.

For the flight, passengers must have a document confirming a negative medical examination for COVID-19.

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, Tajikistan has suspended flights to many countries since March 20. Currently, direct flights are carried out from Dushanbe to Dubai, "charter flights to some cities in Russia are also carried out to transport Tajik citizens.
