Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Government has approved a technical regulation “On the Prohibition of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Radio-Electronic Products.”

The document sets out uniform mandatory requirements to restrict the use of hazardous substances in electrical and radio-electronic products circulating in Uzbekistan.

Accompanying documentation for products must include a passport in the state language, as well as instructions for installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and a user manual.

For goods entering the Uzbek market, compliance with the requirements of this regulation is subject to mandatory assessment.

Product packaging must indicate the name of the product, the manufacturer’s name and/or trademark.

The regulation will take effect six months after its official publication.
