Government Approves Procedure for Student-Employer Interaction and Tuition Payments
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Government of Uzbekistan has approved Resolution No. 8 dated 9 January 2026, establishing the procedure for interaction between students of higher education institutions and employers.
The document regulates both the coverage of tuition expenses by employers for second- and subsequent-year bachelor’s students under contract, as well as their employment upon graduation.
Under the new regulations, eligible employers include ministries, agencies, and organizations with investment projects valued at no less than US$1 million or employing more than 50 staff members.
Students must submit an electronic application to their higher education institution annually by 20 September, attaching a transcript of current academic performance. Participation in the program requires a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Candidates are selected by a university competition commission through an interview process conducted annually by 15 October. The primary criterion for selection is the recommendation of the employer representative.
Students who sign a tripartite agreement and successfully complete their studies are employed by the sponsoring organization in accordance with established procedures, ensuring a direct link between their academic program and practical employment.
