Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A press conference on the development of cultural and educational cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan was held at the Sputnik Uzbekistan multimedia press center.

During the event, the signing of a tripartite memorandum was announced between Rossotrudnichestvo, the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS), and the Center for Education in the Field of Culture under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

GITIS Rector Grigory Zaslavsky noted that the document will serve as a foundation for implementing new joint projects, exchanging expertise, and training young specialists in the field of theatre arts.

“We hope that this agreement will support talented young people from Uzbekistan, help them receive professional education at GITIS, and later enable them to realize their potential at home—as directors, educators, and performers,” Zaslavsky emphasized.

Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in Uzbekistan Irina Staroselskaya stated that the “Hearts of Four” project this year places special emphasis on educational initiatives.

“The tripartite agreement includes sending Uzbek students to study at GITIS, as well as developing cooperation in workforce training,” she noted.

Representative of the Center for Education in the Field of Culture of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Culture, Nasiba Sabirova, added that the memorandum foresees the creation of a specialized acting and directing course for students from the republic.

“Joint master classes, internships, professional development programs, and the development of a full academic curriculum for future actors and directors are planned. This will be an important step in the professional training of young talents,” Sabirova emphasized.

The signing of the memorandum is seen as a significant stage in strengthening cultural ties and developing humanitarian dialogue between Russia and Uzbekistan.
