German envoy hands over grants, stipends to Uzbek citizens

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Uzbekistan Neithart Höfer-Wissing handed over certificates for grants and stipends to undergo language courses, education and research in Germany to the group of citizens from Uzbekistan on 30 May 2014.

According to the Embassy of Germany in Tashkent, some 88 students, teachers and researches from Uzbekistan received the certificates.

Issued stipends to researchers will help them to obtain PhD degree and exchange experience with their German counterparts. Educational stipends will help students to undergo education in German universities.

During the event, graduates of Academic Lyceum No. 2 of Uzbek State World Language University and Academic Lyceym No. 1 of Samarkand Institute of Economic and Service received 20 diplomas of german language of the regular conference of the Ministry of Culture and Education.

Four students of schools and lyceums from Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara were awarded with the prizes for their participation in contest of posters, which was conducted by the Embassy of Germany and titled “Advertisement for fairy tales’ heroes.
